Absolutely enjoyed this vid…thank you for talking about these issues ❤️🙏

It is totally the brands and certain influencers who are ALWAYS pushing new New new. I’m over it.

  3. anniesh1955

Emily, you have kept it real on your channel, that's why we love you. I love your vlogs so much.

  4. Jill Fagan

I feel like more brands are releasing limited edition and leave a person feeling like if they don't buy they will miss out. Not a fan.

  5. Virginie Kirouac

Stay your self please! We love you as you are!

  6. Lauren M

I totally think of Estée Lauder and even Lancôme as old lady brands lol even though lancome has my fave foundation. It’s just funny what we associate in our minds!!

I wish beauty influencers would give cruelty free options to a lot of drug store/high end non cruelty free brands. Thanks!

Love it! Keep these type of videos coming! We trust you and your opinions, so you're the perfect person to do something like this!!

I don't mind affiliate links and I totally respect u for not doin sponsorships but on the brand trips, alot of those I don't like cause a certain Canadian influencer got a trip 4 her whole family from Benefit cosmetics and if she talks about that brand, I don't believe anything that's said lol

I LOVEEEEE Grady Smith!!! I thought I was the only one who knew about him.
Check out his latest video reaction to a rant Kelly Clarkson did about the state of country music. LOVVEEEE!
There are just a small handful of beauty channels I religiously watch. You being one of those.

I work for a cosmetic brand and I have a lot of friends in the industry who work for other brands. On brand trips and influencers: I agree that the trips are a bit excessive, but many brands are fueled by social media. Speaking specifically of tarte, social media has made their brand and they know that. Also this summer they took their employees on a really nice trip, which I know because some of my friends who are employed by tarte were there. They as a brand treat their employees incredibly well, which is often not the case.

Love you and this video. Thought on the certain makeup later in life…I think that’s coming from a place that the sparklier colors show wrinkles more, so more a recommendation if you don’t want to emphasize…and who does?!? But I do enjoy some sparkle, not gonna lie. ✨✨✨. I’m 52.

    Masterfully said!

OH FORGOT SOMETHING, VERY IMPORTANT. THERE'S A YOUTUBER I CAME ACROSS ASKING FOR DONATIONS TO BUY HER PALETTES. TO ME, THATS SICK, AND PEOPLE DONATED. I FEEL THAT IS SO GROSS SHE WOULD ASK FOR SUCH STUPID CRAP, WHEN REAL ORGANIZATIONS NEED MONEY. LIKE ST JUDES FOR SICK CHILDREN WITH CANCER, ANIMAL RIGHTS GROUPS AND CLIMATE CHANGE ISSUES. THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT MATTER IN OUR REAL WORLD. MAKEUP IS ONLY SKIN DEEP, AND IN THE END, WE WON'T HAVE MAKEUP ON. SO PETTY!

  15. Laurie

Stay the way you are !! My mom always said stay true to yourself and you can never go wrong and we know our mom is always right!!! We love you Emily.

  16. Victoria Llaguno

    Keeping doing you!

What is this makeup on your face?! So pretty Emily! Did I miss a tutorial. Can you share the lip color? It screams fall but not too dark, perfect!

ADDRESSING WHAT YOU SAID, FIRST I'D LIKE TO SAY I'VE BOUGHT A LOT OF MY MAKEUP BASED ON YOUR RECOMMENDATION. I DO FEEL YOU ARE VERY HONEST AND FAIR. THE ONE THING THAT BUGS ME MOST THOU, IS TEACHING YOUNG GIRLS/WOMEN THAT THEY NEED MAKEUP TO BE BEAUTIFUL. TO ME, MANY LOOK BETTER WITHOUT ALL THE MAKEUP AND IN REALITY IT'S BEST TO LOOK LIKE YOU BECAUSE PEOPLE SHOULD LOVE YOU WITH NO MAKEUP. IN ADDITION, THESE YOUNG LADIES SHOULD BE LEARNING TO SAVE MONEY FOR MORE IMPORTANT THINGS LIKE BUYING A HOUSE OR CAR, ETC., INSTEAD OF SPENDING MONEY ON EVERY NEW PALETTE THAT COMES OUT. SO MANY ARE SO SIMILAR TO ME, I HAVE DECIDED TO SELL MANY OF THEM OFF. WHO NEEDS THAT MANY WARM PALETTES? ANYWAY, I LIKE A MIX OF COOL AND WARM, MY FAVES BEING THE OLD LADY PALETTES I GUESS (IT COSMETICS NATURALLY PRETTY 1 AND 2, ACTUALLY ALL OF THEM AND THE CHOCOLATE BARS BY TOO FACED. FOR DRUGSTORE, I MOSTLY ONLY BUY WET N WILD. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE SHOP YOUR STASH AND DUPE VIDEOS. DUPES ARE THE BEST! LOVE SAVING MONEY!!!!

I don't know what the happy medium for the frequency of new makeup from all of the makeup companies is. But currently there is so, so much makeup and associated beauty products being released that it is very hard to keep up with all of it. So that makes for a lot of videos to be made and watched…which can be good or bad depending on your perspective. But I will say what I like about having you tubers who really like, love makeup and have more knowledge of the industry than your average person is that, and the reason I watch some videos is 1) to have someone evaluate and inform us of new products and generally are they worth checking out, and their educated opinions, and, 2) bring new items to our attention…because we don't have to buy everything! Instead view the videos as a way to become an educated consumer who can then decide whether they really need the items or the line. If you go in viewing the videos thinking you don't have to buy everything or anything but see if there really is something new or something you really can use.
I know easier said than done but I like the idea that I can watch videos to see what the new items or makeup have been released and not have to run all over the place, store to store to do so. I guess the videos are convenient just to stay up to date in the makeup and beauty world, and I appreciate that information.

I appreciate you and your channel ❤️. I am a POC and it's refreshing to see that you don't have drama on your channel and don't support the general racist problematic brands. You just focus on makeup! Which is what I am here for 🙂

  21. Rila kkuma

I love Estee Lauder they have my favorite foundation. I am still in my 20s and people are always surprised that I use the brand. They will make comments like "You are so young, why use Estee Lauder" etc… I have been using the double wear since I was 19. I always get complements on my skin and I think it's from their skincare 🙂

And this is why after all these years I still continue to watch you Emily. You definitely continue to still be so down to earth and raw in your videos. This is what will keep you going. You definitely have a way with answering questions in a graceful way. Thank you for being you. ❤

    Love you, great job!👍❤️

You just keeping doing you ! You are fantastic and always have been. I find your channel to be honest, funny, friendly and always welcoming. You just keep being the same you and I'll follow you anywhere

There are definitely brands that target the more mature market. This makes sense given there are brands that target the very young market like I heart revolution.

I'm not a huge fan of morphe. I love my James charles palette (despite not liking James, I bought the makeup not the influencer) but I follow Ti's advice of never trusting anyone with a morphe code.

  26. JodieC26

Emily you are the only beauty youtuber I still follow. You are so real and wonderfully genuine. Thank you for your hard work!

  27. Thesa Ursal

The pressure to have everything others have or every new things that come out and be "in".

Thanks be that I am not in September and haven't bought any new make up. Shopping my stash since January.

  28. Cathy Milliken

I love your channel Emily, please never change you or your channel!!! I trust you and your opinions, even on items I can’t afford, I just live hearing your thoughts, and love seeing your family life also, your babies are so cute, and adorable, can’t wait for baba number 3!!!xx

Was it wrong for me to get a bit offended at a YTuber (another Emily, I unsubbed awhile ago) who often said that beauty products would smell like grandmas? I like some new and some classic perfumes, so II asked her, "What do grandmas smell like?" She made me feel like I made a big deal out of nothing. I suggested she described scents were not modern, but reminded her of her grandma, but she made me feel more uncomfortable by saying, "It's not that deep." I don't think grandmas want to feel not cool enough.

  30. catherine Higham

Thank you for being honest, You are one of the few YouTubers that I trust. Stay true to you Emily xxxc

  31. Beth Gramkow

You stay true to yourself. If i have not seen you in my feed I search you.

  32. Jennifer Lynn

Okay I waited to watch this until I had some time to think lol. And my viewing habits personally do skew both ways. I do tend to watch videos on new products, either because I like the creator, there’s a lot of hype, or I just want to be entertained. If I want to buy something, I research more than YouTube videos as each individual has different skin, preferences, skill, etc. but I have been known to support the type of videos I may not love seeing with my click. Interesting to think about. Also, I think the “what everyone” or the masses want, is tricky, because there is such a large audience that is teenagers or slightly above and below. I think this demographic far outweighs us adults in our 30,40 and 50s. So even if we are loud in our preferences, we will be overshadowed by the group that wants the James Charles’s and Jeffree Star’s of YouTube.
