What is the difference between anti-aging cream and moisturizing cream?

There is a world of difference between anti-aging creams and moisturizing creams. First, each is made when considering different goals. Although both aim at beautiful skin, each has a different focus. Moisturizing creams are designed to solve dry skin problems simply, but anti-aging creams can solve a wider range of skin problems, especially those related to the aging process, such as fine lines and wrinkles, crow feet, dark circles, eye bags, sagging The lid, yes, the skin is dry.

The ingredients of anti-aging creams and moisturizers are also different. Usually, ordinary moisturizers consist of three basic ingredients:

  • Provide a water binder or moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated, especially in wet conditions. Usually used as a moisturizer, as a moisturizer is hyaluronic acid, sorbitol, glycerin and urea.
  • Emollients [sometimes called fillers], such as cocoa butter, shea butter, palm kernel oil and lanolin, restore natural oils and make skin smoother.
  • Vitamins nourish the skin. Vitamins A and E are usually present in moisturizers.

Anti-aging creams may also contain these ingredients, but added:

  • Antioxidants. Anti-aging creams contain not only vitamins but also powerful antioxidants such as Coenzyme Q10, which fight free radicals that accelerate aging.
  • Fruit acid or hydroxy acid can remove dead skin cells.
  • Peptides promote the production of collagen, which acts as a filler, making fine lines and wrinkles less noticeable.
  • Retinol helps reverse aging by stimulating the growth of new skin cells.
  • Like peptides, kinetin helps increase collagen production.
  • Hydroxy acid removes dead skin cells and reveals younger, smoother, more beautiful skin.

Anti-aging creams themselves can act as humectants, but moisturizers may not double as anti-aging creams. Although many humectants now contain hydroxy acids, they are still classified as humectants in the absence of other anti-aging ingredients. However, there should be no reason to be confused about the cosmetic cream you need. If dry skin appears before other signs of aging, then your problem is just that your skin is dry, which can be solved with a good moisturizer. On the other hand, if age spots and dry skin have begun to become more visible than you would like to admit, then you need an anti-aging cream instead of a moisturizer.

It's hard to say when it's the best time to use any of them. For those who do not have good inheritance, the need to use moisturizers may be earlier than most people. In the same way, people who have been taking care of their skin from the beginning may not need anti-aging cream, even if they are already in their 30s. Most importantly, you decide when and when to use these beauty products based on your skin condition.
